With my late husband I often walked along the Afon Melte toward Afon Hepste to stand on the ledge behind the Sgwd yr Eira waterfall.
In a relatively dry summer there are three distinct strands of falling water rather than the sheer curtain of water seen in winter. This painting shows one of these summer strands and the ledge behind.
The waterfall is near the village of Ystradfellte, in the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons), Wales. It is one of the many in Waterfall Country or, in Welsh, Bro'r Sgydau
